Last night’s first weekly Community Dinner for the Fall Semester 2016 flushed out 15 people, of many different ages, all neighbors plus step mom Leslie of new podmate Arielle.
We had the usual grand time, despite being forced inside by late afternoon rain accompanied by siren and tornado watch. Podmates spent about 20 minutes together in the basement, cheerfully following the supposed “rotating” cloud on twitter, which, we discovered this morning, was not. Eight tornadoes were spotted in Indiana however from the same front, including one which devastated parts of Kokomo, about 70 miles north of here.
Then, bright and early this morning, new podmate Dan was up making the second batch of his amazingly good, rich, complex kraut, which we are already visioning as the first in a new product line “Green Acres Alchemy.”
A few days ago Dan cleared some unwanted trees from a garden that needs a lot of work. Using our fabulous Puller Bear, he pulled this out, the root as along as the trunk of the tree. Thankful for small, appropriate technology, and willing hands to share the work.
